We tend to live up to what other people expect of us. Could you have those feelings you once had for your spouse? Can you reboot an old friendship that’s died on the vine? If you choose to love and do loving things, the feelings will follow. How do you do it? In Revelation 2 Jesus gives us 3 things to expect the best in all our relationships, especially our closest ones.
We all need lasting friendships! Last week we focused on loving people that are hard to like. While there are people you just don’t see eye to eye with at times, sometimes the other person isn’t the problem. I am! So what’s the solution? This week Pastor Brad dives into how to be more like Jesus when it comes to building lasting friendships.
We all have people in our life that we have to deal with, whether it’s on the job, in our family or wherever that we just don’t like. And you ask these questions; Can't I just ignore them? Do I really have to love them? Do I have to like them? In this very intriguing message, Pastor Brad answers these questions and explains what God’s word says about learning to love difficult people.
God could have just created us and immediately taken us into heaven. But He put us here on earth for 70, 80, 100 years so we can learn how to love. And if we don’t do that, we miss one of the biggest points of life. The most beautiful picture of Love is at the Cross of Calvary! There we discover who we’re to love and how.
Today’s message is an introduction to the next couple of messages in the weeks ahead. Pastor Brad introduces the secret sauce to our relationships. It’s something we’re commanded and compelled to do as followers of Jesus… Love. It’s a word we throw around like no other. But what is love? What does it mean to love? Let’s look at a few things God’s Word teaches us about love.
Baptism is about relationships. It visualizes that we are saved by and belong to Jesus and we belong to each other in the church. In this message Pastor Brad breaks these points down and answers some of the most common questions about baptism.
You and I are wired for relationships and God desires for us to have friendships that are meaningful and lasting. In the first message of this series Relationships, Pastor Brad takes into the book of wisdom, Proverbs. The book of Proverbs is a relationship manual. Solomon gives us six characteristics for developing lasting friendships.
The neat thing about living this life, is that God gives us opportunities to start over many times. Do you need a Fresh Start? Or, what dream has God given you? And when are you going to get started on it? God's Word gives us the simple steps for getting started on a Fresh Start and Pastor Brad takes us each one.
Where do you want to be this time next year? How are you going to get there, from here? Renee’s visual of taking out the trash is a great analogy, and a big part of the answer.
When we have peace with God, then and only then, will we have peace within, and then we can have peace with others. But how do you embrace and enjoy that peace? … Peace of God, Peace Within, Peace with Others. Well, God tells us do several things to enjoy peace this Christmas and every day.
It’s rare to meet people who are literally walking in peace and yet that’s one of the reasons Jesus came; to give us peace!
